A Prayer for your Husband and your Marriage: Love, Strength and Unity

Heavenly Father, thank you for our marriage, Lord Jesus. The closer we are to you the more united we are as husband and wife. I praise you today for the day that I met my husband and the day that we began our lives together. Please guide him towards you and give him strength to hold onto what is true and excellent and praiseworthy, I pray that he would think on those things when life gets tough. Give him the spirit of joy and plant seeds of hope in his heart and mind so that he would carry your promises wherever he goes. Help him to direct his eyes towards you rather than his circumstances. Please transform my husband by renewing his mind and protecting his heart so that what flows from it would be pure and lovely. I pray that he would cast his cares to you and surrender all to you Lord. Show us how we can encourage one another in our marriage and unite us in our prayer time together through your Holy Spirit. Guide us in your truth and lead us in righteousness. Please remind my husband of who he is in you. Show him his purpose and direct him in his role and responsibilities as a husband and do the same for me as his wife Lord. Let everything he does flow from your love and glorify you. Show me how to support him and help him, to love him, honour him, and to stand by him. I pray that the troubles in this world would not choke his walk with you and that he would keep trusting in you for all things. Remove any confusions in his life that are blocking his path from revealing your light and surround him with your protection. I pray that my husband would fully commit his ways to you, so that you would establish his plans, and he would acknowledge you in everything, remembering that all things come from you. I pray that he would love you with all his heart, mind, soul and strength and love his neighbours as himself. Give him clarity of mind and set him free from chains of oppression, giving him strength to fight any battles that come his way. Let him receive your peace and walk in it. Show him how to persevere please Lord, and in your grace and mercy, keep pouring your love into his heart through your spirit, just as you have already done. Please fill us both with the knowledge of your will in our marriage and in all areas in our life together, through all the wisdom and understanding that your spirit gives, so that we may live a life worthy of you Lord and please you in every way; bearing fruit in every good work, growing in knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to your glorious might so that we may have great endurance and patience, giving joyful thanks to the Father who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. Please open the eyes of our hearts Lord, so that we may see your plans for our marriage in this season and in our future together, let us hear your voice, Lord Jesus. In Jesus name, Amen.
